I know that all relationships have conditions. Friendships have common ground. Co-workers share common goals. When two people first meet, they may find each other attractive and interesting; maybe even have some of the same interests or share life experiences. These conditions are unconscious and rarely discussed, but every kind of relationship has them.
At least that's what I thought until I had my daughter.
I am truly blessed to know what unconditional love is. Let me explain. Every day I wake up next to my amazing husband and our wonderful daughter. She hardly knows us (is barely 4 months old) yet it seems like the highlight of her day just to see our faces. She smiles and laughs at the experience of being awake. She giggles when you smile or laugh back. She bursts with excitement as you talk to her, say 'good morning', as she struggles to communicate back. She wiggles and squirms and shrieks at light changes as you open the curtains and she can see the features of our faces in a better light.
I love her (obviously) but I know what love is as I have some experience with it. Eliina is new to this world, and the most obvious, pure emotion that I am sure she experiences is love. Unconditional love for her parents and I can't speak for Duy, but I am thrilled to be on the receiving end of it every day.
They're incredible, these little people.
Love
her grip on my hand is nothing compared to her grip on my heart
