Baby Update #2

Archived from October 10th 2006:

Hi all!

I hope you're all doing well and enjoying Thanksgiving Turkey leftovers.

Vietnam is still wonderful. My work (Canadian Chamber of Commerce) held our yearly Thanksgiving Dinner event last night... and I managed to shenagle an entire 25lb turkey to take home. Imagine! A month of turkey leftovers in Vietnam! I'm SUPER excited... especially since I've managed to regain my appetite.

Big news to share with ya'll so I'll get started:

I'm now 20 weeks (5 months) pregnant... I'm eating my way throught the lion's share of each of my paychecks and LOVING it. Who knew that I could put back so much food???

The baby's moving (or something is moving inside me). It's the strangest feeling with the odd shooting pains in my lower abdomen while what I can only assume is a shifting of positions takes place. There are also flutters, stabs, flips and just plain strangeness in words that I can't understand. Mom's reading this know what I'm talking about... Mom's to be... brace yourself, tis a strange experience.

I have an appointment next Wednesday for my next ultrasound. Apparently by this time I COULD tell the sex if I wanted to. My stance on it, if I can see then okay. If I can't see, then no problem. Again, HEALTH and NORMAL is what I'm going for here. These are my big goals. I'm going to try to scan the pictures once I get them developed, then I'll be able to share with you all early pictures of Baby.

That's about it for news for now. I'll try to send out Baby Update #3 as soon as possible, maybe after next Wed's appointment with more pictures... oh, and enjoy the attached one for now. Sorry it's so damn unflattering, but no-one said pregnancy made you beautiful!!! :-)

In the meanwhile, Lots of Love from Vietnam... from me, baby and Duy.
Take care, Happy Thanksgiving and I'm off to eat Hot Turkey Sandwiches..... mmmmmmmm
